Wes Wells has over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate finance and has co-founded numerous business entities including two strategic platforms within CB Richard Ellis (“CBRE”), namely CBRE Recovery & Restructuring Services and CBRE Capital Advisors (CBRE’s investment banking and broker/dealer platform). Both of these companies were created to address the needs of CBRE’s largest institutional clients by transaction volume.
Prior to joining St. Croix Capital Advisors, Mr. Wells served as Head of Capital Markets for Amherst Residential Partners, LLC (“ARP”), the single-family rental funds managed by Amherst Holdings, LLC. During his tenure, ARP has completed ~$3.1 billion in single-family rental transactions, which included Amherst’s inaugural ~$489 million securitization (AMSR 2016-SFR1) in October 2016, and a $295 million dollar joint venture with a top-10 (by AUM) private equity firm seeking exposure to the sector.
Mr. Wells’ investment banking career also includes ~$1 billion in equity recapitalizations for financial institutions seeking a third-party capital infusion in conjunction with a sale of distressed assets.
Over his career, Mr. Wells has earned his Series 7 and 63 securities licenses, secured the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation for commercial real estate professionals, sat on the Board of Economic Advisors for the International Council of Shopping Centers (“ICSC”), and co-authored a whitepaper entitled “Myths and Realities of Investing in Distressed Commercial Real Estate” with CBRE’s Global Chief Economist.
